If you’re looking for a safari that feels relaxed, personal, and rooted in a genuine love for the bush, Discover Kruger is an ideal choice. Based in the southern reaches of Kruger National Park, this owner-run safari business focuses on unhurried drives shaped by local knowledge and years of experience rather than rigid schedules.
Founded in 2009, Discover Kruger grew from a family’s long-standing connection to the park. That passion also influenced the decision to settle in Komatipoort, close to the Crocodile Bridge entrance, an area known for its rich biodiversity and consistently rewarding wildlife sightings. Operating from this part of the park means every drive offers real potential for memorable encounters.
In late 2024, the business expanded with a second open safari vehicle, allowing more guests to experience Kruger without losing the personal feel. The expansion also welcomed a second guide, Murray Graham, who brought his experience from Eastern Cape game reserves along with an infectious enthusiasm that guests quickly warm to.
Discover Kruger focuses on the southern regions of the park, where varied habitats and high game density create excellent viewing opportunities. Drives are guided by what the bush reveals, with time to observe animal behaviour, tracks, and the quieter moments that make a safari truly special.
Safaris take place in open vehicles with small groups, offering comfort, great visibility, and a relaxed atmosphere. Guests can choose between half-day and full-day options, from early morning drives to longer explorations that reveal the changing rhythms of the bush.
More than just a game drive, a safari with Discover Kruger is about understanding the landscape and experiencing Kruger as a living, breathing ecosystem.
