Step 1: Review Collection
The process begins by collecting genuine guest reviews from trusted public platforms such as Google Reviews, TripAdvisor, and Booking.com.
The system automatically scans an accommodation’s review page URL, imports the written feedback, and compiles all relevant review data — including comments, ratings, and timestamps.
This ensures that the assessment is based on authentic traveler experiences, not subjective opinions or internal audits.
Step 2: AI Sentiment Analysis
Once the reviews are imported, the DSA AI Engine analyzes the text using Natural Language Processing (NLP) — an advanced form of artificial intelligence that understands language, tone, and context.
The AI searches for key descriptive words and emotional indicators that correspond to six main rating categories:

Step 6: Publication & Transparency
The final DSA Rating is displayed across the Destination Southern Africa platform and within relevant regional digital publications, ensuring visibility among both local and international travelers.
